An Acorn, an Oak Leaf, and a Story to Keep

More than a piece of jewellery

Some gifts are chosen because they are beautiful. Others because of what they represent. And occasionally, a gift manages to be both. I hope you'll agree, this is one such instance.

I am so excited to share with you what has been created, from years, months, days and fleeting moments of observation throughout the seasons. An appreciation for nature that drives to the very heart of the word. For the oak tree in all its shapes and sizes has long stolen my heart.

For me, historic coin jewellery has always held a similar appeal. Each coin has travelled through time, carrying the marks of its original purpose and the intricacies of the design it was given. When I transform one into a piece of jewellery, its story doesn't end; it begins a new chapter.

For the Acorns and Oak Leaves collection, I wanted the experience of receiving the jewellery to reflect that same sense of history and thoughtfulness. I would like the bearer of the piece to be able to feel the light and love of the Prenoa process, so they can know their piece has been made with a broader intention in mind.

Each piece is presented in its own carefully considered gift box, accompanied by a collection of art and craft details, a polishing kit and an authenticity certificate. These additions are not simply finishing touches, they are part of the jewellery experience. They invite the recipient to look a little closer, discover more about their jewellery and enjoy caring for it over the years to come.

It is a small range of three designs with a story at its heart, created for those who appreciate the beauty of things made to last.

The promise of an acorn, the strength of an oak

An acorn is a small thing with an extraordinary promise.

Within it lies the potential for something far greater: an oak tree that may stand for centuries, providing shelter, supporting wildlife and becoming part of the landscape for generations to come.

It is a lovely symbol of new beginnings, growth and the possibilities held within even the smallest moments.

The oak leaf tells another part of the story. Long associated with strength, endurance and resilience, the oak has a special place in our relationship with the British countryside. Its presence connects us to the changing seasons, the natural world and the passage of time. The life that lives on an oak tree surpasses any other British native tree; it is the support system of our woodland.

Together, the acorn and oak leaf offer a sentiment that feels particularly fitting for a meaningful gift. They might represent a relationship taking root, a family growing, a friendship that has endured or a quiet wish for the future.

Perhaps this is what makes their design so appealing. It speaks of the things we hope will last, without needing to say a word.

A little piece of British history, given new life

The beauty of historic coin jewellery lies in its ability to connect different moments in time.

The British threepence coins at the heart of this collection were once part of everyday life. Today, their original monetary purpose has passed, but the details of their designs remain: a reminder of the craftsmanship, history and traditions of another era. Indeed, today's King Charles III five pence coinage displays an oak sprig on its tails, to show one hundred years on, the message is still as strong as ever.

I love the idea that an object once carried in a pocket or purse can find a new home as a necklace or a pair of cufflinks. The coin becomes something personal, worn close to the skin or chosen for an occasion that matters.

A coin has a unique tactility to it, sometimes crisp and new, sometimes smooth and worn, warm and comforting in the hand.

By preserving the character of the original coin and giving it a new purpose, I hope to create jewellery that feels both rooted in history and entirely at home in the present.

Each piece in the Acorns and Oak Leaves collection carries this connection to the past, with the acorn and oak leaf offering a timeless reminder of growth, strength and continuity.

The art of giving something meaningful

A thoughtful gift is about more than the moment it is opened. Although this collection celebrates the joy of opening, it is also about what happens afterwards.

The necklace or cufflinks might be worn for years, brought out for special occasions or become part of the everyday rituals that make an object feel familiar. The accompanying art and craft details offer another way to appreciate the piece, whilst the polishing kit helps the recipient care for their jewellery and the certificate provides a lasting record of the item.

I wanted these details to complement the jewellery rather than compete with it: a considered presentation that celebrates the story behind the coin and the craftsmanship involved in giving it a new life.

There is something rather lovely about gifting an object that comes with an invitation to care for it. To polish it, wear it, learn about it and allow it to gather memories of its own.

Perhaps that is what makes a keepsake different from an ordinary possession. It becomes part of our story, too.

A gift to treasure beyond Christmas

Christmas offers a wonderful opportunity to choose gifts with meaning, but the sentiments behind this collection reach far beyond the festive season.

An acorn might symbolise a new chapter. An oak leaf might represent the strength of a lasting relationship. A pair of cufflinks might mark a milestone, whilst a necklace might be chosen as a reminder of someone special.

Whether you are looking for a meaningful Christmas gift for a partner, a family member or a dear friend, each piece offers a little connection to history and the natural world.

The Acorns and Oak Leaves collection is limited edition, with each necklace and pair of cufflinks presented individually in its own gift box, complete with accompanying art and craft details, a polishing kit and certificate.

At Prenoa, I believe jewellery can be more than something beautiful to wear. It can hold a story, carry a sentiment and become something to treasure long after the wrapping paper has been cleared away.

Like the acorn that grows into an oak, the smallest things can become the most enduring.
