The penny is made of bronze and feature Queen Victoria and Britannia, ruler of the waves and sea.
This coin has been heated and domed by hand, to give it a wonderful semi-spherical shape. Doming creates a 'fishbowl' effect on the coin which emphasizes the detail on the coin and gives the bronze a reflective sparkle when the light catches it.
The domed penny measures 28mm in diameter, so this is the largest of Prenoa's coins. A timeworn treasure, over 120 years old. Signs of wear are inevitable, given the age and journey each coin has been on.
This item is wrapped in tissue and presented in a wax sealed envelope, tied with satin ribbon, ready for giving.
